Teaching ServiceNorthern Beaches Secondary College Manly Campus (enrolment 800 students) is a coeducational, academically selective school within Northern Beaches Secondary College. The school has a strong commitment to the ethos of academic excellence, personal best and giving back to the community. Current research-based pedagogy informs the school planning process supported by conceptual programming which emphasises creative and critical thinking, emotional intelligence, project based learning and innovative, effective assessment practices to meet the needs of high potential and gifted learners. A culture of high expectations and success is nurtured by positive, supportive and collaborative relationships between students, staff and parents. An extensive curriculum enrichment program and rich and varied creative and performing arts and sports programs cater for diverse student interests. The school has a highly involved, committed and supportive parent community who represent diverse backgrounds and cultures. The successful applicant will be appointed to Northern Beaches Secondary College and will be initially based at Manly Campus.
1. Approval to teach Stage 6 Physics and Chemistry, as well as Stage 4 and 5 Science.
2. Capacity to work as an effective team member to contribute to the development and delivery of innovative and differentiated teaching programs to meet the needs of high potential and gifted learners.
3. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with a capacity to contribute to faculty and whole school programs and build positive relationships with students, staff and wider community.
4. Demonstrated experience in successfully using technology to enable quality teaching and learning.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
