To work during term-time.

The Governing Body and Headteacher of West Lancashire Community High School are currently inviting applications for a teacher/s with a background in Special Educational Needs.

We are a thriving school and as a result of increasing pupils on roll there is a need for an additional class teacher. The post is a full-time class teacher role, teaching students with generic learning difficulties, however consideration will be given to part-time applications.

West Lancashire Community High School is a vibrant school situated on the outskirts of Skelmersdale. Our students all have a statement of special educational needs or an Education Health Care Plan. We currently have 100 students on roll, students are aged between 11 and 19 years.

Our school is organised into four departments:

Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, Post 16, Learning Suite (ASD/complex needs).

Each class teacher is a subject leader, however more importantly we want someone who is SEN experienced, versatile and eager to positively contribute to the success of the school.

All teachers deliver English and Maths curriculum. Although teachers remain with their class predominantly, they may be asked to work in a different department, when need dictates. The school has recently achieved recognition in the following areas: Leading Parent Partnership, National Autistic Society, Forest Schools, International Schools.

Interested applicants are invited to tour the school the morning of Friday 23 February 10am (by appointment only)

The post is for a Main Pay Scale Teacher with SEN (1 or 2 dependent on qualifications and experience)

We look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful school.

Informal discussion: Contact the School Business Manager, Mrs Claire Codling on 01695 721487.

School re-opens on 19 February.

The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'.

Lancashire County Council has a Policy Statement on the Recruitment of Ex-offenders this is available to all applicants upon request.

Interview date: week commencing 12 March 2018.

Application forms: Available from LCC website.  Email only to Mrs Claire Codling: business.manager@westlancs.lancs.sch.uk.

Closing date: 5 March 2018 at 9am.
