Strand Primary Academy are looking to appoint a Teacher/SENCO to join our academy in September 2021 on a full time permanent basis, part time will be considered.

Carrying out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with academy policies, under the direction of the Principal.  The role will also involve strategic development of the school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision and oversight of the day-to-day operation of that policy with the aim of raising SEN pupil achievement.  We would consider someone who is aspiring to be a SENCO and would be happy to work towards the qualification.

Strand Primary Academy is situated in the East Marsh area of Grimsby, less than an hour drive from Hull, Lincoln and Scunthorpe. We are a small, one form entry academy, educating children from the ages of 3 to 11 from the local area.

At Strand Primary Academy we have a team that is absolutely committed to ensuring that our children are at the heart of everything we do.

Strand Primary Academy’s motto is ‘Together we are stronger’ and we believe that when staff, parents and children work together all children, irrespective of their background, can succeed and achieve their ambitions. We work together to provide a happy, caring, safe and stimulating environment where learning is fun and everyone is encouraged to reach their full potential. We aim to broaden children’s minds and raise their aspirations. We are fostering a ‘can do’ approach and with everyone working together, we strive to make our school the best. The culture of our school is one in which staff and pupils are continually learning and are determined to succeed. We work collaboratively within the school and we are establishing relationships within the Delta network to share good practice. The principles of nurturing lie at the heart of our school and drive everything we do. We work hard to remove barriers to learning and we place great emphasis on academic achievement, ensuring that children have the necessary skills, knowledge and attitudes to prepare them for life.
