Job overview

Due to the promotion of one of our teachers the North West Leeds Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre (NW SILC) is seeking a skilled and experience teacher.

The NW SILC is a successful generic need community special school with 183 pupils currently on roll. The pupils are aged 2-19 and have a wide range of learning difficulties/disabilities.

The SILC consists of 8 sites, including 3 specialist sites as well as 2 primary school and 3 high school mainstream inclusion bases. We also manage the City wide autism support service (STARS).

The successful candidate will be integral part of shaping the learning for our pupils with SEND including those with complex communication and interaction difficulties (including autism).

We are seeking a teacher who:

  • thinks creatively and engages positively with pupils with a broad range of needs
  • sets and meets differentiated learning targets for individual pupils
  • maximises learning opportunities and achievement.
  • can optimise the contribution of classroom support staff
  • will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary colleagues towards delivering excellence
