Fernhill School is a co-educational, all-through, independent school based in Rutherglen, Glasgow, for students aged 3-18. It is a Roman Catholic school.

Headteacher

Mr Mark Donnelly

Values and vision

Fernhill School supports its students through a dedicated Pupil Support Team, which is always available for any child looking for advice or guidance. The school also aims for its class and form teachers to be always on hand to provide support as and when it is needed. The primary and secondary departments have a house system made up of four houses, which helps to foster strong bonds between pupils.

Fernhill School believes its small class sizes allow teachers to spend more time with children individually, giving each pupil the attention and high standard of education that they deserve. Fernhill School has promised that classes will never exceed 18 pupils.

Education Scotland report

“The school has high academic standards. In key measures of examination performance at S4, S5 and S6, Fernhill has performed consistently well above national averages and has continued to improve overall. The headteacher and staff take personal interest in young people’s academic progress and welfare. There are rigorous and systematic procedures for analysing examination results at whole school, departmental and individual levels… The school also places a high degree of emphasis on encouraging the personal and social development of children and young people.”
