Teaching ServiceJamison High School is a comprehensive, coeducational high school of 948 students. The school offers a wide range of educational programs that cater to the diverse educational needs of students including 10% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 15% language background other than English. The school has a dedicated Support Faculty with five classes that cater to the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Technology in the curriculum is a strong focus at our school and is well supported by the Bring Your Own Device program and our integration of the full range of Google Suite into learning activities. We have a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and inclusion in the curriculum. As a Positive Behaviour for Learning School our school community has the following four core values, safety, respect, aspirational, learner. These values operate across all activities and programs at the school and are the basis for behaviour expectations and learning goals of students.
Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (AU).
Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, assess, monitor and evaluate personalised learning and support plans to meet the academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs of students.
Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver and improve quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs that maximise engagement and achievement of students with complex learning and support needs, across KLA's.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to maintain effective partnerships with students, parents, the community, support agencies and colleagues to support student learning and engagement.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
