Rare and exciting opportunity to make a real difference

MacIntyre is a national charity supporting people with learning disabilities. We are looking for a qualified teacher to join the team at our school in Wingrave, near Aylesbury.

About you

You will be an outstanding, creative classroom teacher, able to demonstrate a real commitment to education for students with complex needs. You will be an excellent communicator, able to inspire and lead a team of learning support staff and to form positive and effective relationships with the residential, therapy and behaviour support teams and with students’ families.

You will hold QTS and will preferably have completed your NQT year, although we would consider an exceptional newly qualified teacher with some relevant experience. Experience of TEACCH and PECS would be an advantage, as would the ability to offer a specialism such as music and drama or ICT.

MacIntyre School is a vibrant and diverse 52 week residential/day school with superb facilities and resources for children and young people aged 10-19 who have severe learning disabilities, behaviour that challenges and communication difficulties.

Many of our students are on the autism spectrum.

We offer a broad and challenging curriculum that is individually tailored to provide each student with the best possible learning experiences. Students have exciting opportunities for practical learning both onsite and in the community. We promote independence and effective communication in everything that we do.
