Our school vision is to be a school of excellence, demonstrating outstanding school success for all. We proudly support 13 classes and one Hearing support unit. Student excellence is promoted through the partnership between school, students and families, and cultural awareness that 'together we can achieve our very best'. Our students achieve at a high level academically, artistically, socially and in sport, reflecting the values inherent in doing things the 'Kotara South Way'. The whole school community, involving students, staff, parents, Ethnic Communities Council and the local AECG, was consulted in a thorough situational analysis followed by the development of strategic improvement plan. Through our situational analysis, we have identified a need to use data driven practices that ensure all students have access to stage appropriate learning.
- Approval to teach Hearing Impairment (primary), Approval to teach infants and primary K-6 with recognized training and practical experience using AUSLAN.
- Demonstrated ability to individually plan, teach, assess and report for students with complex needs across all KLA’s.
- High level communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated outstanding classroom management skills that enhance inclusive education, student engagement and participation for all students.
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander policy and how this impacts learning.
- Awareness and understanding of teaching students with Hearing Impairment and Autism
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
