Teaching ServiceRegents Park Public School provides learning opportunities for approximately 290 students. The school is located in the Chullora Principals Network in South Western Sydney. The school is located in the Canterbury/Bankstown local government area. The school caters for a diverse student population with 90% of students from a language background other than English. The most represented groups are from Cantonese, Mandarin, Arabic Speaking and Pacific -Islander backgrounds. The school FOEI is 132 identifying the school as catering for a community from a low socio economic background.
The school has a Support Unit consisting of 3 specialist classes, catering for students with specific needs.

Approval to teach special education and/or demonstrated experience teaching students with a variety of disabilities including mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, Autism, receptive and expressive communication needs, and challenging behaviours.
Outstanding classroom practice with a demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum by developing, implementing and evaluating authentic, explicit and engaging teaching and learning programs, and experience developing Personalised Learning and Support Plans.
Demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing with the ability to develop and effectively implement positive classroom management strategies that are responsive to identified challenging behaviours, including Behaviour Response Plans and Risk Management Plans. Strong skills in liaising with stakeholders to best meet the behavioural, social, sensory and learning needs of students.
Well-developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage proactively and professionally with students, parents and carers from a diverse range of backgrounds, staff, support agencies and the wider community as part of a collaborative team to improve student outcomes.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
