The Remarkable Group has been established for over 50 years, providing the highest quality services for autistic young people. Ascent College (ages 16 – 25) operate a non-maintained special school and independent specialist college with an excellent reputation for delivering outstanding education and care to young people with Autism. We are the first national provider to receive Beacon status from the National Autistic Society.

We are welcoming applications from colleagues who have experience of the Adult Core Curriculum and employability pathways. We are looking for qualified, experienced teachers who are already working within the SEN sector or who wish to develop their specialist skills in this interesting and challenging field. Ideally, successful candidates will also be able to offer a specialism to coordinate a subject across the college.

  • Knowledge of person-centred teaching and learning strategies as well as the ability to creatively design sessions that engage and support autistic young adults to progress across accredited and non-accredited pathways.

  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • The ability to work well with others, be prepared to be flexible
  • The ability to create the best conditions for learning or teaching new things.
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • A happy team player
