We require a teacher or subject leader of Art with excellent subject knowledge who can combine academic rigour with a passion for this subject. The post holder will teach across three key stages and will be expected to add value to this popular department. We pride ourselves on being deeply committed to educating our students ‘for life in all its fullness’.

The Priory School is a vibrant and exciting Church of England comprehensive school. Whether you are starting your teaching career or more experienced and looking for a different challenge, you are invited to apply for this post. Join us as we work together on our journey of school improvement towards excellence.

The school has 830 students including a Sixth Form. We benefit from fantastic facilities which are set to improve further due to our expansion programme as student numbers grow. One of two secondary schools in the town of Dorking, we aim to provide inspirational teaching in a caring and supportive environment. Our Christian ethos and distinctiveness sets us apart from other schools and our inclusive approach means we welcome staff and students from all backgrounds.

In November 2014 Ofsted rated the school ‘Good’, with outstanding features, and we were awarded ‘Outstanding’ in our SIAMs inspection in December 2015.  Results are consistently above the national averages.

If you wish to join a school that is thriving but destined for even greater things then we would welcome your application which should be submitted by noon on Tuesday 2 May 2017.

Interviews will take place on Monday 8 May 2017.

About The Priory CofE Voluntary Aided School

The Priory School is a Church of England Voluntary Aided school.

This means that the education that we provide offers more than academic rigour and excellence. Our rates of progress are outstanding; these are enhanced and extended by our school values which are at the heart of everything we do.

The combination of academic challenge and support, the breadth and range of our curriculum and the close links we have locally and with the wider world mean that we are ‘serving our community’ and ‘educating for life in all its fullness’ every day.

We firmly believe that our values of hope, wisdom, dignity and community are meaningful, desirable and relevant foundations on which all young people can start to build their adult lives.

Schools have been set up by the Church of England for more than two centuries with the intention of educating the children of the parish. At The Priory, the vast majority of our students come from local C of E primary schools such as St Paul’s, St Martin’s, St John’s, The Weald and Surrey Hills. In addition we warmly receive students from other Dorking schools such as Powell Corderoy, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School and North Downs, clearly indicating that we are open and welcoming to students and families of other faiths and of no faith
