Job overview
Would you like a new challenge in a consistently judged 'Outstanding' school?
Are you passionate about teaching pupils with ASD?
Hillside is a very successful school that places the pupils at the heart of everything and is aspirational for pupils' outcomes. We have recently retained our 'Outstanding' rating following a short inspection by Ofsted; now judged 'Outstanding' on four consecutive occasions.
The staff are friendly and supportive, and diversity is at our core. As a school, we are passionate about equality and recognise that as individuals we all bring something unique to the role regardless of age, gender, race, beliefs or disabilities, which is why we treat all of our people equally, without compromise.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated class teacher.
You may have skills already or be keen to develop skills in teaching pupils with complex needs, specifically pupils with Autism. You will be expected to be very flexible and must have a truly positive approach to the strategies used to develop practice in schools and settings for pupils with ASD.
A knowledge of the needs of PMLD pupils would also be an advantage.
You will have a proven track record of excellent communication skills, working co-operatively and developing positive relationships with pupils, staff at all levels and families. You will be driven and have high levels of professionalism and a commitment to continuous school improvement.
Visits to the school are actively encouraged.
