About the role

To tutor specific children as needed.

To carry out professional duties and to have responsibility for small groups of children.

To carry out appropriate planning, teaching, marking and assessment activities so each child can achieve their potential.

To be responsible for the day-to-day work and management of the children and the safety and welfare of these pupils, during on-site and off-site activities.

To promote the aims and objectives of the school and maintain its philosophy of education.

 

PART-TIME HOURS/ FTE OF BETWEEN 0.4 AND 0.6. (Fixed Term Until 31st August 2023)

Who we are looking for

Qualified teacher status- ECT’s are welcome to apply

A degree or equivalent qualification

Evidence of service in professional development

Thorough, modern knowledge of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and how to implement them effectively

Thorough understanding of the national curriculum and a range of assessment requirements and arrangements

Knowledge and understanding of the implications of equal opportunities, multicultural education and inclusion

Strong ICT skills

Know the legal requirements, national policy and guidance on safeguarding children

About Briar Hill Primary School

Briar Hill Primary and Nursery School is an 3-11 school, based in the town of Northampton. In May 2016 the school was judged as good by Ofsted. We are now on our way to outstanding as we have continued to ensure rapid progress is made to improve the quality of education for all pupils. 

Briar Hill is therefore seeking to recruit staff who will have high expectations of all pupils and will work with our skilled team to secure improved outcomes and life chances for the young people in our community. Driving this improvement is a commitment from leaders that teachers are the experts in their field and they should be enabled to teach well planned units of the curriculum, ensuring students acquire knowledge; without the distraction of unnecessary workload, excessive observation and scrutiny or low value administrative tasks.
