Job overview

Teacher  Vacancies

Due to increasing numbers of Young People seeking our excellent provision we have a rare opportunity to join one of the country’s largest Special Schools for young people with a diagnosis of Autism,  Asperger’s’ Syndrome and Speech and Language Disorders.  The split site school is located in the Derbyshire countryside with both sites set in beautiful rural locations.

We demand flexibility, integrity, hard work, resilience and a deep desire to educate young people. In return you will receive fantastic support, incredible career development opportunities, an impressive team working approach to education and the priceless reward of knowing that you are making a difference each and every day to the lives of some very unique individuals.

The School’s most recent integrated OFSTED inspection in July 2018 graded the school as Good overall but with 2 outstanding judgements in Leadership and Management and in Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare. Residential OFSTED inspections over the past few years have graded the residential provision across both sites as Outstanding. An external Challenge Partner Review in March 2018 graded the overall education provision at the school as Outstanding.

Classroom Teacher for Primary/Juniors

Main Pay Scale – dependent on experience

We are looking for an excellent teacher to join a small primary department. We have high expectations that young people with thrive in our environment and become successful learners. The vacancy exists due to an increasing number of young people who wish to access our unique provision. The successful applicant should have knowledge and experience of teaching across Key Stages 1-2.

Classroom Teacher

Main Pay Scale – dependent on experience

We are expanding across all areas of the school, however, the curriculum areas where we would prefer additional teaching capacity are KS3/4 Maths, and KS3/4 ICT, experience of BTECs or ASDAN alongside a KS4 or 5 pastoral role.  This is not an exhaustive list and the ability to offer other subjects will not be a bar to a suitable candidate as we do ask that some staff teach across a range of subjects. The character of the person and their qualities outshine a specific curriculum need for us. We are looking for someone who has the potential to be an outstanding teacher of our remarkable young people.

The successful candidate will work within a small but experienced teaching staff team, supported by a large and dedicated Learning Support Worker (LSW) team. There will also be an expectation to work alongside a team of dedicated and highly specialised Speech and Language and Occupational Therapists.  This whole team approach is key to our excellent provision.

If you are an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher and you want to make a significant difference to the lives of young people then we would like to hear from you.
