St Dominic’s School is part of Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust (OHC&AT), a specialist Trust with 12 Academies and 7 College Centres across London, Surrey and Sussex. 

We are a special school in Surrey and provide education for pupils and students aged 7-19, typically with a primary diagnosis of Autism or social communication difficulties. Our school is located in the beautiful village of Hambledon, close to Witley, Milford, Guildford and Godalming. We have views of the Surrey hills and plenty of outdoor space, including access to the common and a Forest School site. St Dominic’s has been through a period of rapid growth and change. We are therefore seeking dynamic and committed staff, who share our organisational values, to work alongside our newly appointed leadership team.  We are looking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic teacher with experience of delivering BTEC to pupils and students in Key Stages 4 and 5 who have a range of abilities.

The successful candidate will have a commitment to developing outstanding practice and the desire and drive to improve educational outcomes and life chances for our very special pupils and students.

Main Areas of Responsibility

• To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils and students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate

• To implement and deliver appropriate Key Stages 4 & 5 qualifications, including BTEC courses and other selected courses/qualifications.

• To monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils and students as a teacher/form tutor.

• To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides pupils and students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.

• To contribute to raising standards of pupil and student attainment.

• To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.

Experience of working within a SEN setting is desirable, but not essential.
