We are seeking two primary classroom teachers, for Year 4 (full-time) and Year 1 (part-time, 4 days/wk). You will be able to meet the following criteria: appropriate qualifications and experience, effective communication skills, an ability to work in partnership with colleagues, students and parents/carers, an ability to attend to detail in innovative and creative practices, and a clear understanding of the new Australian Curriculum. All Saints School was established in 1989 to provide a quality Catholic Education to the students of Albany Creek, Eatons Hill and surrounding areas. It has grown into a medium size school of over 650 students.

The committed and caring staff, work closely with parents to provide a well-rounded education for its students. All Saints School has embraced the Australian Curriculum, the Excellent Learning and Teaching initiatives, Visible Learning as well as the latest research in how to improve student learning.

All Saints School has a comprehensive Religious Education program. The faith life of all students is nurtured through opportunities to be involved in prayer and liturgy, as well as being involved in opportunities to support the different charity groups within our community.

All classrooms are air conditioned to enhance the environment for student learning. There are two computer labs – once mac and one PC. All classrooms have access to laptops, desktops, iPads and iPods. A one to one iPad program is being rolled out in year 5 2014. Year 6 students now visit Canberra each year. Our library has ten learning spaces to provide a range of different learning environments for our students. There are extensive grounds and covered spaces for outdoor learning.

There are comprehensive music, instrumental music and sports programs available for all students. Students can join a variety of choirs, learn a string, woodwind, brass or percussion instrument, as well as have an opportunity to learn the recorder and ukulele in classroom music lessons. 2018 will see the opening of two new music teaching classrooms. All Saints students are involved in both State and Catholic Sport competitions.

Staff plan collaboratively several times a term. Support in planning is provided by our two Primary Learning Leaders, who are also our teacher librarians. There are two full time Learning Support Teachers and a full time Guidance Counsellor.

To be successful in this role you will:
 

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
