Job overview

London Connected Learning Centre

This is a teaching and learning role with a focus on the computing curriculum and learning with technologies. That means you’ll probably already be a teacher, although we welcome applications from strong individuals without Qualified Teacher Status. We have a track record of developing people, helping them to learn, explore their interests and move into bigger and better roles. Our approach and activities are defined by Connected Learning. We make links between learning at school and at home, we involve children and young people in using digital technologies to create, experiment, design and explore, we foster collaboration between teachers, students and parents and we work in partnership with businesses, community and cultural organisations. We’ll expect you to be able to provide examples of how you have supported school students’ and teachers’ to learn with digital technologies.

London CLC runs a varied programme of teacher professional development, student workshops and consultancy for schools. That means you’ll be delivering exciting, innovative technology-based pupil sessions, supporting teachers and school leaders and getting involved in creative technology-based projects and research. We are managed by Education Development Trust, a not for profit organisation which supports education around the world. Being part of the wider Education Development Trust family will give you the opportunity to get involved with UK wide and international projects.

It goes without saying that for this role you’ll need a strong understanding of the English computing curriculum and ideally you’ll have plenty of experience in using digital technologies to support learning across the curriculum. London CLC works with learners all the way from EYFS, through primary and secondary to parents, cultural and business professionals, so we want someone who is comfortable working with a wide range of different groups.

While we’ve got plenty to offer in terms of a varied working life and professional development, London CLC is also looking to learn from you. We want someone who’s excited about the potential of technology to support learning, has a real flair for computing, and who can inspire teachers. We’ll want to hear how you keep up-to-date with the latest developments in education and technology, too.
