TERM TIME ONLY FROM SEPTEMBER 2017 - 1 YEAR FTC

The Portsmouth Grammar School is a leading co-educational school located in the historic heart of Portsmouth.

We are looking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant to work with an academically able female pupil who requires 1-1 support due to a physical disability.  The role will involve some manual lifting and assistance with the use of a wheelchair and other aids to support the pupil moving safely around the school site.

We welcome female applicants only as the role involves a level of personal care.  This is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.  The successful candidate will hold a relevant qualification to at least Level 3 and will ideally have experience of working in a senior school environment.

This is a term-time only post (35 hours per week, 08.30 - 1600 Monday - Friday) for a 1 year fixed term contract.  The pro-rata annual salary will be £12,367 to include holiday pay.

ISI Report 2022

During an ISI Inspection in late 2022 both the achievement of the pupils, including their academic development and the personal development of the pupils were found to be excellent - the highest possible classification. The Inspection also looked at the School’s compliance with the regulatory standards and requirements. PGS met all the standards required.
