The School is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support teachers in the preparation and delivery of lessons. The post will involve working as a member of a team at our Prep School assisting teachers, pupils and working alongside other Teaching Assistants. As a Teaching Assistant at Newland House School, you will support the School’s aim in in ensuring that we provide a curriculum that is broad and balanced, covering the academic, artistic and physical elements that are crucial for the development of the whole child.
We set high principles of learning for all children in a caring and supportive environment and you will help to promote our ethos in encouraging enquiring minds and building pupil’s strengths, interests and experiences. In addition, you will be required to set and maintain high educational and moral standards, undertake other appropriate duties as may be required, participate in and organise extra-curricular activities and support the school in all its many and varied activities. You will also promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact. We pride ourselves in fostering excellent home/school relationships with parents and you will be expected to have strong communication skills.
The successful candidates will have Level 3 NVQ or equivalent, recent experience working with children and a confident understanding in Special Educational Needs (SEN), as well as a commitment to continued professional development. You will be first aid trained or be willing to attend training. The post merits a salary commensurate with the role and the successful applicant's relevant experience.
Newland House School is a successful, flourishing co-educational independent day school for children from 4 to 13 years, based in Twickenham in South West London.
