Teaching Assistant and Autism Key Worker

We are seeking to appoint an excellent candidate to this key role.  The key purpose of this post is to work with and supervise individuals and groups of children, inclusive of specific learning needs, to enable access to learning for all students. A key aspect of the role also requires the successful candidate to work alongside The STARS team delivering schemes of work that are provided and to be a key worker for some of our Autistic students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a selfless drive, enthusiasm and commitment to improving the lives of the young people they work with, alongside high expectations and the necessary skills to successfully achieve this goal.

We have been identified as being one of the most over-subscribed schools in Leeds. Our recent achievements are:

January 2017 – Amanda Spielman (Chief Inspector of Ofsted) wrote to congratulate us on ‘transforming all aspects of the school’.

August 2018 – the most improved school in the city

April 2019 – highly successful Ofsted which confirmed the school is now good in all areas including our Sixth Form

August 2019 – our best ever GCSE results with a Progress 8 figure of +0.1

The school has a long and proud history stretching back over 110 years.  

We are highly ambitious for our students and have plans to become a centre of excellence by 2023. We are also investing in our Sixth Form which offers a full range of A level and Applied General courses.
