About Us

Upton Grange located in Slough, is our Early Years and Key Stage 1 site, providing education for children aged 3 to 7 years old.

Our students are taught in smaller class sizes and all students work towards a variety of qualifications dependent on their needs and ability.

The team are dedicated to providing an exceptional education, supporting the development of children who are happy, confident, have a positive self-esteem, are able to communicate their feelings, wishes and needs and enjoy their learning. Individualised teaching ensures that each child progresses at their own pace and works towards achieving their full potential.

The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice to join Upton Grange School to complete a recognised Teaching Assistant Level 3 Qualification whilst also learning to work within a school environment and have a real impact on Children’s lives. Learners will build an advanced understanding of how to provide quality teaching and how to influence and support learners. Some of the areas of development include:

  • Contributing to the implementation of learning activities
  • Evaluating the performance of lesson plans and how to improve for the future
  • Working independently in teaching group and individual activities
  • Working in partnership with teachers to help support and deliver lesson plans and objectives

Entry Requirements

Upton Grange School will support you through your qualification alongside Busy Bees Training Provider and you will have a dedicated mentor within school.

If you cannot provide certificates for Maths and English, you will be asked to complete your Functional Skills Maths and English as part of the apprenticeship.

You will be expected to do some ‘off-the-job (OJT) training, and you will be asked to do 20% of your contracted working hours undertaking this training. Your OJT must be relevant to the apprenticeship standard and will be supported by our school to provide you with new knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the role.

Located in Slough, Upton Grange is one of our Early Years and Primary sites, providing education for children aged 3.5 – 11 years old.  Our schools supports pupils in their Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and 2. Access to the National Curriculum is tailored to the individual needs of the pupil and is supported through a communication-centred environment. The school offers the Early Years Foundation Stage, National Curriculum and a personalised tailored curriculum which embeds aspects of Equals, alongside a personal development team which supports Forest School led by a full time Level 4 Forest School teacher, Life Skills, Creative Arts, Dance, Sports and Storytelling. By providing small class sizes with 4 – 8 children, supported by a Teacher and two Teaching Assistants in each class, children benefit from an individualised and person-centred approach where they can progress at their own pace appropriate to their specific needs.
