Carr Junior School are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and caring Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join us at Carr Junior School to start in September 2022.

The successful candidate will work in Year 5 to support a child with a diagnosis of ASD and to support small groups of children under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO to help ensure the delivery of high quality teaching and learning to raise standards of achievement. 

TA duties include:

1. To support the children in every aspect of their learning whilst they are in school

2. To be aware of changes in a child’s persona and act accordingly

3. To support the children out of the classroom including in intimate care

4. To work with class teachers to ensure work is planned accordingly and work as part of a team

As this is an apprentice position, applicants will be supported on an eighteen month apprenticeship programme and learn on and off the job. To be eligible applicants need to have 3-5 GCSE’s including English and Maths.

We would like someone who has the ability to work well with others as part of our dedicated team and who is committed to providing welfare and support to the children.

This role will begin in September and is for 30 hours per week Monday to Friday, term time only.
