Salary: Grade 4, Point 3-5, £20,812 - £21,575 FTE (£8,436 - £8,745 actual)

Hours of work: 18 hours per week, Monday – Friday 38 weeks per year (Term time only)

Start date: February 2023

 

We currently have a vacancy for passionate, creative Teaching Assistant, who thrives on helping students realise their potential at Oakley Primary Academy. You would take responsibility for adapting and delivering learning activities with individuals or small groups, alongside encouraging, and promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all students.

The Opportunity

  • Under the direction of the Class Teacher, Supervise the activities of individuals or groups of children to ensure their safety and welfare
  • Motivate and encourage the child as needed 
  • Prepare the classroom for lessons as directed 
  • Contribute to the management of student behaviour
  • Support students to understand instructions 
  • Develop and keep effective working relationships with other staff and parents/carers

 

The ideal candidate

  • Good educational background with GCSE or equivalent in English Language
  • Understanding of how children learn
  • Skilled at developing children’s self-esteem and motivation so that they become resilient, independent learners
  • Willingness to undergo further training and development
