Belmont Primary School is a successful, fully inclusive, oversubscribed two form entry school with a Nursery and specialist provision for pupils with visual impairment and physical/medical needs. We also have an assessment unit for pupils with complex needs.  Our staff are hardworking and enthusiastic and pupils enjoy learning in a stimulating environment. Belmont School is part of a hard federation with Woodside School.  The two schools share one Executive Headteacher. 

We are seeking to appoint suitably qualified Teaching Assistants. The ideal candidates will possess excellent communication interpersonal skills and have experience of working with children. The successful candidates will join a friendly, supportive team with opportunities for further training. For one of the posts we are particularly interested in someone who has an interest in VI or who is willing to be trained.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.  The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.

About Belmont Academy
