About us and the role

We are looking for an innovative, inspirational Class Teaching Assistant who puts the welfare and progress of children at the centre of everything they do and are able to support our students in reaching their full potential.

Avanti Gardens School is part of the growing family of Avanti schools. Some Avanti schools are Hindu-designated faith schools, but Avanti Gardens is not a faith school. However, staff and students at Avanti Gardens School do not originate from any specific faith background; applications are welcome from practitioners of any faith and from those of none. What will you do? 

  • Under the specific supervision of the class teacher, to work with individuals and groups of pupils to deliver learning programmes 
  • To encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher 
  • To prepare and maintain basic classroom resources and equipment as directed by the class teacher and assist the pupils in their use. 
  • To provide feedback on pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher. This may include feedback on pupil progress in meeting Individual Education Plan targets. 
  • To assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson time but during the school day, within contracted hours as necessary for their safety.

What are we looking for? 

  • Experience of working with relevant age group within a learning environment. 
  • Ability to use basic ICT including computer, audio, video equipment. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. 
  • Ability to work well as part of a team 
  • High degree of drive, resilience and enthusiasm
