£75-£80 per day

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is recent experience working with special needs children or vulnerable adults.

Smart Teachers is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant – BSL Level 2 to join a special needs school in the Wandsworth area of London. This full time Teaching Assistant – BSL Level 2  is for an April 2021 start and will be a temporary role. The children at this school are mostly in the secondary age group and have either a hearing impairment or speech, language, and communication difficulties.

The role

• Teaching Assistant – BSL Level 2 

• Working with secondary aged children

• Either 1:1 supporting a specific child or working within small groups.

• General in-class support also involved.

• Prior experience supporting students with hearing impairments or speech and language difficulties essential.

• School hours are 8.30am to 4.00pm

• Full time temporary position

• Daily rate £75+ per day (PAYE)

• Temporary contract available from April 2021

Requirements

To be considered for the Teaching Assistant – BSL Level 2  position, you will have:

• Experience working with children or adults with special needs.

• A British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 qualification

• NQTs and/or OS-trained teachers are welcome to apply.

• Have strong communication, literacy, and numeracy skills.

• Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)

• Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
