The Preparatory School at Rishworth, are seeking to appoint a compassionate and inspirational Teaching Assistant with a nature to nurture.

The successful candidate will assist in the learning and development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the class teacher. Predominantly working in Years 1 and 2, although could also involve working within all key stages and will involve assisting across all year groups during the course of a working week.

Experience of working within a Primary setting as well as in an outdoor setting (for example, Forest School), would be desirable, although full training will be given.

An ability to work as part of a team, be adaptable and flexible in approach, as well as on your own initiative is essential - as is a sense of humour!

You will be working with our pupils in small groups, supporting with their daily reading, and working alongside our inspirational class teachers.

This role is full time, term-time only. Salary will be paid at National Living Wage, £11.44 per hour.

The hours of work will be 41.25 hours per week (8:00am to 4:45pm, including a half hour unpaid lunch).

Rishworth School is a mixed, non-denominational, all-through independent day and boarding school situated in Rishworth, West Yorkshire. The school has a Christian ethos but welcomes students from all faiths. There are approximately 450 pupils at Rishworth, between the ages of 3-19.

Rishworth School was established in 1724 by John Wheelwright in a small building, now used as the school’s chapel. The junior school, Heathfield opened in 1951. The school is set around 130 acres of parkland. It is a founder member of the Society of Headmasters for Independent Schools (SHMIS). Rishworth and Heathfield both offer an extensive range of learning facilities and share a swimming pool, performing arts centre and playing fields.
