We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant at Longsands Academy to support the learning, social, and emotional needs of students across the curriculum in this 11-18 Academy. The successful candidate will have initiative, enthusiasm and patience and be interested and knowledgeable about supporting students with a wide range of SEN needs.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible as they will be called on to support students with SEN needs across the curriculum, including students with behavioural issues. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the SENDCo to support the progress of individual students and will work with the classroom teacher to facilitate the active participation of children in the academic and social activities of the school. The successful candidate will be proactive and have the ability to work using their own initiative.
The role is for 27.5 hours per week, worked over 5 days. Term time only plus 1 training day in September, with an unpaid 20 minute mid-morning break and 40 minute lunch break.
The start time is 8.45am (Mon, Weds, Fri) and 8.35am (Tues and Thurs). The finish time is 3.10pm. Salary is based on Local Government Salary Grade 01 £17,364 - £18,426, pro rata (actual salary for hours stated is £12,254 - £13,003).
