Teaching Assistants - Temporary  Grade 4, 13.   Start date to be confirmed

Part time, 16.25 hours x 2 posts (working either mornings or afternoons) there will be some flexibility over the hours worked. 

Congleton Multi-Academy Trust is now recruiting for Teaching Assistants they will be based at the high school to support a child who is registered blind, and has some hearing loss on a 1:1 basis. 

The role will include:

Working closely with the teaching staff, and other teaching assistants, supporting with the delivery of learning activities, and work programmes, including the preparation of materials and resources.  You will support and encourage the student to develop their skills and knowledge, and give general guidance within and outside of the classroom.

The role includes taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under a system of supervision, supported by direction from the SENCO, teaching staff and in line with school policies and guidance. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for the individual, and monitoring the student. You will assess record and report on the students’ achievement, progress and development.

Person Specification

A caring, flexible and common sense approach is important as well as being organised and proactive. You will attend to their personal, social and physical needs so that their wellbeing is maintained. 

You will possess a good level of Maths and English, along with excellent IT skills. Excellent communication skills and an understanding of the difficulties for someone who is visually impaired. Previous experience is not essential as training will be given. It is important to be enthusiastic and an excellent motivator. A recognised VI qualification in supporting Visually Impaired children is not essential but desirable. The ability to read Braille would be useful but not essential as training will be given.
