Beckmead Family of Schools was rated Outstanding by Ofsted in January 2017. The Family of Schools is an expanding learning and nurturing community for young people with Educational Health Care Plans that is based over a number of sites. The Monks Orchard Road site will cater for 54 SEMH KS2-3 boys and 30 KS3-4 boys who have ASD and related behavioural difficulties. The Morland Road site, Chaffinch Brook is for 36 ASD/SCD KS1-2 pupils who present with challenging behaviour. Bramley Bank includes Rainbow class at Aerodrome Primary and a short stay school that provides places for children referred from mainstream schools due to behavioural issues. Beckmead College and Alverston Gardens, will offer a variety of individualised vocational and learning pathways for up to 100 KS4 and KS5 students. We are seeking to recruit 4 General Teaching Assistants at Level 2 to join our new provision in New Addington. Tharreo House is opening in Autumn 2017 and will cater for vulnerable pupils with Education Health Care Plans which name autism, SEMH or school phobia. Tharreo House will provide a small and highly specialised setting for children with a variety of cognitive and emotional impairments. The successful candidates will already be excellent teaching assistants with a commitment to fulfilling the needs of pupils experiencing behavioural, emotional or learning difficulties, and/or social communication difficulties including ASD. The ability to motivate pupils towards high achievement is essential. Excellent teamwork, classroom and communication skills are vital. Applications are welcomed from existing teaching assistants who have an energy and passion for working with children with complex needs.
