Longdon Park School opened in June 2015. We are a co-educational day school catering for pupils aged 7-18 with complex educational needs, communication difficulties, challenging behaviour primarily with a diagnosis of ASD. Recently judged by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’ we provide a therapeutic, supportive and inclusive learning environment where our young people learn to accept responsibility for their actions, make positive decisions and display pro-social behaviour. We are committed to raising achievement and enabling pupils to recognise their potential and supporting them through a personalised, engaging curriculum. Our priority is to develop the foundation knowledge and skills required to make a manageable and smooth transition to the next life stage.
We require a Teaching Assistant with relevant qualifications and experience to work across the Key Stage 3/4 age range. The successful candidate will support access to learning for students and to provide general support to the class teacher and other education staff in the management of pupils and the learning environment. Work may sometimes be carried out outside the main teaching area including off site locations. It would be an advantage to have experience in planning and leading parts of lessons within the classroom setting. The ability to contribute to the development of our growing school is essential and we believe that energy, passion and a commitment to high standards are key characteristics required.
We are looking for an outstanding individual who is able to help re engage the young people that we serve. Experience in working with pupils who have a diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorder would be an advantage.
