About this Role

Due to an increase in demand for support staff, Wynstream Community Primary School is looking to recruit a full-time teaching assistant to join us from the beginning of November 2026.

Wynstream Community Primary School is a very special place to work. Situated in the heart of Exeter, the school enjoys extensive grounds – including school sports fields, sports pitches and gardening patches – which provide an incredible learning environment for our pupils.

Our dedicated team of staff and governors are working together to create a school where there is a real sense of community and where learners and staff members can flourish. Our aims are straightforward: our vision for everyone in our school is ‘Aiming higher, achieving more.’ We want to develop the intellectual, spiritual, moral, social and cultural knowledge of each child through inspirational teaching and opportunities. We value parent partnership and are a truly inclusive school. We welcome visits to our school so that you can see for yourself!

We can promise you a wonderful team of staff and welcoming families. Our children are eager to learn, and their behaviour is outstanding. We also have strong professional links through our Multi-Academy Trust, Education South West.

We are seeking to recruit a skilled teaching assistant who is able to demonstrate high levels of effectiveness supporting children on their academic, social and emotional learning journeys. Applicants will require strong communication skills, demonstrate patience and understanding of different pupils’ starting points, and have a real passion for education. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a creative and professional team.

Applicants are encouraged to apply via My New Term

Visits to the school are welcomed. Please contact Emma-Leigh Partridge at admin@wynstreamprimary.org.uk

Early applications are encouraged, as we reserve the right to close this vacancy and withdraw the advertisement before the stated closing date should a suitable candidate be appointed.

The closing date for applications is Monday 2nd November 9:00am. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview during the week beginning Monday 2nd November (depending on the number of suitable applicants for the post).
