The Ridge is a very special learning community. We provide a “fresh start” for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health problems (SEMH).  The curriculum is designed to support children in becoming confident and independent learners in a rapidly changing world.

The Ridge is a primary school for children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support within small classes of children with high level of support. 

Teaching Assistants at The Ridge play a crucial role in developing the skills of the children.  We are looking for someone who will be a team player who has the skills to support children’s SEMH.  In addition, the candidate will be able to support firm and consistent boundaries, remaining calm when faced with diverse situations.

This post is 27.5 hours per week, fixed term until end July 2018 dependent on funding. We are looking for an individual to join our warm, hardworking team of Teaching Assistants.  In addition, you will be required to attend INSET days when they arise and to undertake the necessary training appropriate to your role which will include physical intervention training.

Our Curriculum

At The Ridge Academy we teach a curriculum that is similar to other schools because we believe that our pupils have the right to the same school experience as any other primary aged child. The key difference in our curriculum delivery is that it is delivered in very small classes with high levels of staffing.
