George Hastwell is a 2-19 special school for pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties. Many also have associated needs including autism, genetic disorders, health conditions, and communication or mobility challenges.

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our improving school.

The successful candidate will work with teachers to support teaching and learning, providing specialist support to maximise pupil development and achievement.

We are looking for an individual who is:

• Committed to meeting the individual learning needs of our pupils

• An outstanding teaching assistant with experience of working with children

• Someone with a positive attitude who is caring and considerate

This role will include a requirement to work with a student who has physical and medical needs including the provision of personal care, for which in-house training will be provided.

The school is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure via the Disclosure & Barring Services (DBS).
