The School

FSM is a lively and successful co-educational Preparatory school for children aged 2 to 13. Situated on our own 45 acre estate on the edge of the New Forest, we pride ourselves on the fact that we are modern, clear thinking and dynamic.  Known for our holistic approach to education and our pastoral care, we have also achieved excellent results in recent years both academically, musically and on the sports field. Our boarding is a special part of the school and is central to our provision. Teachers are expected to be committed to creating a stimulating environment and to adapting to the needs of the children.  FSM is non-selective, yet manages to obtain numerous awards to top independent senior schools. We are an academic school with a wide ability intake.

Conditions

The salary will be according to the FSM Scale.  Certain additional allowances might apply for additional responsibilities or involvement. 

Procedure

Applicants should submit an application form available on the FSM Website and curriculum vitae to the Headmaster Elect, Forres Sandle Manor Limited, Fordingbridge. Hampshire, SP6 1NS. A continuation sheet may be used if required. Our website provides a clear insight into FSM.  Interviews will form part of the process and interviewees should bring proof of qualifications and may be expected to be observed teaching a lesson, dependent on Covid-19 restrictions at the time. The interview will also assess candidates’ suitability to work with children and will include questions relating to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
