About Phorms Campus Hamburg
Phorms Education Hamburg Campus is a mixed, non-denominational all-through school without sixth form situated in North Germany. It is a bilingual private school, part of the Phorms network that provides seven German-English bilingual schools across Germany as well as the Heidelberg International School (H.I.S.). The school will provide 430 places for nursery, primary and secondary school students from 18 months up to their teenage years, when fully subscribed. Student qualifications include the MSA at year 10 and the ‘Hamburger G8 – Abitur’ qualification two years later. Students may also study towards the Advanced Placement Diploma (AP) from year 11.
Phorms Management AG (now known as Phorms Education SE) was founded in 2005 to create the idea for the schools, with both individuals and businesses investing in the scheme because they believed its idea and form of education would be a success. The Hamburg campus was established in 2008-2009 and its state-approved secondary school began in 2011.
Values and Vision
Phorms schools are dedicated to providing a truly bilingual education, where children are educated in both German and English from the very start. The name ‘Phorms’ is a combination of formation and metamorphosis, making a term that combines the ideas of development and movement. German and English language staff teach the students from as early as nursery school to ensure that languages are treated with similar prominence at every stage in the child’s education. Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate programmes prepare students for the world of international universities.
The Hamburg campus itself is renowned for its familiar and personal atmosphere with a great diversity that gives a real sense of the city’s culture.
