TEACHING ASSISTANT

Grade: APT&C Scale 2  

39 weeks per year - 5 days per week

Our Lady of Grace is a friendly, successful primary school which needs a committed Teaching Assistant to join our excellent team.  In the first instance, this will be to work alongside individual children and groups in class and also in managing small groups of pupils for specific interventions as required.  You may also be required to support children with Special Needs on a 1:1 basis. 

Our successful candidate should be confident in working with children across the age range (5-11) and it may suit someone thinking of teaching as a career.

You should have experience of working with teachers in creating and delivering specific educational programmes, adapting these to individual needs.  You must be able to work on your own initiative, but need to be a good team player too!

We are looking for an applicant with experience of comparable work in a similar setting and hold at least NVQ3 or equivalent.  You should be a confident user of ICT and hold a First Aid qualification or be willing to train for one.

References will be required and as part of safeguarding the welfare of all our children, a DBS clearance will be undertaken.
