Ditcham Park School are seeking to recruit an exceptional KS1 teaching assistant, to support EYFS in the mornings and to provide general lunchtime support. This position is a 1 year fixed term contract to start in January 2024 08:00 – 4:00 Monday – Friday.

Key purpose of role

The Teaching Assistant role is to support the Class Teacher and Head of Juniors in all aspects of school work as shown below, ensuring that statutory requirements are met. To enable all children to make best use of the educational opportunities available to them and to provide a high standard of care as required and in accordance with the child’s individual needs.

Fostering the participation of pupils in the social and academic practices of the school

  • Enabling pupils to become more independent learners
  • Helping to raise standards of achievement for class pupils
  • Support the Learning Support Department with access arrangements
  • The ability to work as a member of a dedicated, hard-working TA team
  • A commitment to supporting pupils to reach their potential

Ditcham Park School is a co-educational, independent school for children aged  2 ½ -16, located in the South Downs National Park in Hampshire. The pupil roll is around 350.    

The main part of the school is a Victorian manor house which, in 1940, was requisitioned by the Royal Navy  and used as a convalescent home for sailors. After the war, it became a boys preparatory school run by Douai School Monks. In 1976 Ditcham Park School was founded. The following 40 years saw significant extensions to the school  being made, including a technology and arts building, sports hall and new classrooms.
