TEACHING ASSISTANT with Specialist Education Services

NJC Scale pts 11 – 15, £25,979 - £27,803 per annum (pro rata for term time only), depending on experience.

Due to a planned restructure, Specialist Education Services is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join the team at Avocet House. We are a company with a national reputation for excellence in our work with Looked After Children and outstanding staff support and development, underpinned by a “No Limits” approach. Our two establishments for 8-18 year olds are based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, both holding good Ofsted judgements for education.

SES delivers a potent learning experience, with a radical and innovative approach. We set no limits for the progress of our young people and for the development of our staff. A post with SES is ideal for candidates who feel they would relish the opportunity to be part of a team that is creating exciting personalised learning programmes for children with social, emotional and mental health complexities.

SES Teaching Assistants now have the opportunity to progress their careers to unqualified teacher status, a development and assessment year can begin following two years of service or after one year if at the top of scale. If successful you would move to the UQT scale, starting at point 3 £25,323 with the ability to reach point 6 £32,134 (salary not pro-rata'd), you would also receive the annual SEN allowance, currently £2539.

It is always worth a conversation with us if you are unsure whether this work is for you, or to get more information to help you make your decision. If you are interested then please contact us on 01508 549320, or alternatively visit www.specialisteducation.co.uk for more information.

SES is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments are dependent on a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.

Section 7(1)(a) of the SVGA 2006 states it is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

We are an equal opportunity employer with diversity and inclusion at the centre of everything we do.

The closing date for applications is Friday 12 April 2024

Proposed interview date is Friday 19 April 2024
