Due to an increase in our pupil roll we are looking for a number of enthusiastic and lively teaching assistants to work with pupils who have physical and communication difficulties from September 2025.  The roles involve support in the classroom and a high level of physical work and personal care of pupils.  We have vacancies across the school – working with primary aged pupils with autism and pupils with complex physical and health needs in both our primary and secondary departments.

We have purpose designed buildings co-located with mainstream settings and are a very successful school, graded as “outstanding” by Ofsted. High expectations, a positive attitude and teamwork are central to the success of the school. Learn more about us by visiting our website:  www.cloudesley.islington.sch.uk

Candidates must have English and Maths GCSE Grade C or equivalent.  Successful short-listed candidates will be asked to provide proof of these qualifications at interview or be prepared to sit an equivalency test during their probationary period.  References will be requested during the shortlisting process, therefore it is imperative that candidates approach their referees in advance and provide up to date contact details.  We will not shortlist if we are unable to obtain references.

Visits to the school are actively encouraged.  To arrange a visit or to discuss the posts further, please contact Sarah Kelly (Business Manager) on 020 7704 8127 or email sarah.kelly@cloudesley.islington.sch.uk

Closing date:     Sunday 22nd June at midnight

Interviews:       week beginning 30th June 2025, or earlier by arrangement

We encourage early applications and reserve the right to fill the vacancies in advance of the closing date.

Richard Cloudesley School is an Equal Opportunities Employer. Our environment is diverse in character and in its student population and we aspire to reflect this diversity in our staff. We positively welcome applications from minority groups. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This is reflected in our rigorous approach to the recruitment and professional development of our staff. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

In line with KCSiE 2024 and safer recruitment practices, the school will conduct an online search for all shortlisted candidates.  The online search is part of our safeguarding checks and will seek publicly available information on the candidates’ suitability to work with children.  Shortlisted candidates will be provided with further guidance and will be asked to clarify their online presence.
