The Head Teacher, staff, pupils and governors at Ambler are seeking to appoint two Teaching Assistants with strong experience who have the passion and commitment to contribute to an enthusiastic and dynamic team, where the quality of teaching is good to outstanding. At our recent Ofsted (Feb 2012), our school was judged to be a good school with good and outstanding teaching.  We have recently had an Ofsted inspection – look out for the new report which should be available beginning of June 2017.

Ambler School and Children’s Centre provides full wrap around care and education for children aged 6 months to 11 years. Ambler is a one-form entry school which is growing to a two-form entry school year-by-year due to popular demand which promotes an inclusive ethos with a strong commitment to music and the arts. Ambler Children’s Centre offers a wide variety of outreach services to the local community, and the School actively supports our families in a variety of ways including family learning and ESOL classes.

We are seeking two Teaching Assistants who:

- Demonstrate successful experience in a primary setting, especially regarding the successful management of behaviour within a class. 

- Work as part of the staff team at the direction of the SLT /Class Teachers to support teaching provision and pupils' learning. 

- Under the guidance of the SLT, to work with individuals and groups of pupils in class, including those pupils with additional educational needs, to help them to achieve to the best of their ability.

- At the direction of Class Teachers, to help to organise learning and classroom environments, prepare resources and implement strategies for teaching and learning. 

- Support and deliver the programmes for teaching literacy and numeracy and assist pupils to access the full curriculum. 

- Be familiar with lesson plans, IEP targets and learning objectives. 

- Observe pupils' performance, and using the systems in place in the school/class provide the teacher with feedback on pupil progress in relation to provision. 

- To work alongside the Learning Mentor in supporting vulnerable pupils. 

- Embrace change and innovation positively 

- Get involved in the promotion of positive behaviours in and out of lessons. 

- Promote an active playground, leading on activities that engage the children 

- Has a positive approach and a good sense of humour.
