Lark Hall Primary School is looking for outstanding and motivated individuals to join our team in providing support and intervention for children with Special Educational Needs within the Mainstream School.

You will be supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs with accessing the curriculum and delivering specific interventions in order to meet their needs. This role involves working with multiple children on an individual, paired or group basis.

We are looking for motivated individuals with:

A passion for providing educational experiences which ensure that all learners achieve.

Prior experience of working with children with Special Needs.

Ability to work as part of a team with excellent interpersonal skills.

Initiative and the ability to be reflective practitioners who can act upon the advice of colleagues to improve the educational outcomes for the children that they work with.

About Lark Hall Primary School (Including Lark Hall Centre for Pupils with Autism)

Lark Hall Primary School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational primary school with a nursery, located in Clapham, south-west London. When full, the school will provide 478 places for pupils aged 2-11. The school also has a Centre for Autism, with 30 children in four classes.  

Lark Hall Primary School opened in 2003 and was part of a merger of three schools in the Clapham and Stockwell area. The school operates with three teachers for each year group.

Lark Hall Primary School wants to ensure that all pupils make good progress during their time in class, and that their individual talents are nurtured in a safe and caring environment. Children’s challenges are met with support and encouragement. The school’s vision is to be a place where learning is fun and ideas are explored. It follows five key values: equality, caring, enjoyment, honesty and respect. 

The Centre for Autism focuses on three key areas – social communication, emotional regulation and transactional support – to ensure pupils have the opportunity to reach their goals. The centre applies a range of teaching styles to suit the different needs of the children, using techniques to help them overcome their difficulties, and encourage their strengths and interests.

“The school’s work to keep pupils safe and secure is good. Pupils feel safe and are kept safe. Pupils have a good knowledge of different types of bullying. They feel that any incidents are dealt with by staff. They are knowledgeable about the need for safe use of the internet and are aware of the dangers of cyber bullying.”
