Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Belmont Secondary School, Rawtenstall, BB4 6RX
Salary: £20,906.25 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Pupil Support Worker/Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit team at Belmont Secondary School located in Rawtenstall.

About the Role

To work as a Pupil Support Worker, providing support to the teacher and the pupils within an assigned group. In addition to agreed responsibilities of Pupil Support Worker and any reasonable direction from the Head Teacher or member of the Senior Leadership Team the Pupil Support Worker will:
Main Tasks

To support pupils emotional, social and behavioural wellbeing.
To assist teachers in developing and implementing individual educational programmes.
To support individual and small groups of pupils across a broad and balanced curriculum.
To work with individual and small groups of pupils on educational activities.
To prepare materials and equipment.
To occasionally transport pupils home after detentions and educational visits etc.

Job Activities

To work with individual and small groups of pupils in conjunction with the subject teacher.
To record relevant educational, social and behavioural information within an agreed framework.
To implement agreed individual educational/behavioural programmes.
To promote the social and emotional development of pupils through positive approaches that will encourage appropriate relationships and the development of self-esteem.
To accompany class groups on external educational visits.
To assist subject teacher in group and individual behavioural management, within the agreed school framework.

Qualifications

Ideally Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
