About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant at Miller House School, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional and complex needs to access learning and reach their full potential. Working closely with teachers and specialists, you will provide tailored one-to-one and small group support, helping to deliver engaging and creative learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
You will support pupils’ academic progress alongside their social, emotional, and behavioural development, creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where they can thrive. Building positive, trusting relationships will be at the heart of everything you do, helping pupils to grow in confidence and overcome barriers to learning.
What You’ll Be Doing
Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
Supporting the delivery of creative, engaging lessons alongside teaching staff
Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and emotional resilience
Building positive, trusting relationships that support progress and wellbeing
Supporting a range of learning experiences, including outdoor activities
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and colleagues to deliver consistent support
About you
This role is ideal for someone who is:
Compassionate, calm, and adaptable, even when things don’t go to plan
Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, supporting a range of learning experiences
A natural communicator and team player, able to build rapport with pupils and staff
Passionate about inclusive education and supporting young people with SEN
Eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges in a dynamic school environment
Requirements:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Miller House School is a brand-new school located in Stoneygate, Leicester. The school opened in September 2025, has a capacity of 80 pupils, and offers a co-educational provision for students with complex needs, including SEMH.
Miller House School is a specialist SEMH setting for young people aged 11–16. We are committed to supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, as well as autism and ADHD. Our safe and nurturing environment ensures every child is heard, seen, and supported to thrive.
