Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Forest House School are looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join their education support team.

The following skills are essential for this role;

  • A good knowledge of autism with experience of working within an SEN setting, ideally with a similar age group, on the autistic spectrum.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with our young people in an engaging way in order to maximise their learning.
  • Highly organised and adaptable, with an enthusiastic and positive approach.
  • The desire to learn new skills and develop your role to build on your own strengths.
  • A full, clean driving licence is also essential, as part of your role will involve transporting students on educational visits in the community.

Forest House School provides specialist education for up to 22 young people aged 14-16 with high functioning autism. Pupils may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their communication difficulties and a lack of social understanding.

Forest House provides specialist support for both boys and girls aged 8 to 19 years who are on the autistic spectrum, who may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their communication difficulties and a lack of social understanding.

We follow a bespoke curriculum based on academic, therapeutic, life skills and engagement work. The aim is to raise standards in the education of young people with autism and help them to lead meaningful, fulfilling and happy lives.
