Teaching Assistant Level 1

John Port School is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant at Level 1 to work in the successful and welcoming Student Support area. 

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year term time. 

You will work mostly in class situations, supporting individuals and groups to enable them to overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential. A resilient attitude, an aptitude for working with young people and a desire to overcome barriers are essential for this post.

Whilst no formal qualifications are required, you should be literate, numerate and capable of working with teachers and other staff to support the learning of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
