Salary: Meridian Trust Support Staff Pay Table, Grade 4 or 5, Points 3-7, £15,749.62 - £16,927.89 actual (£20,812 - £22,369 FTE) depending on experience
Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time, plus 5 days)
This is a temporary contract, covering maternity leave unto 31/12/2024.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person who would like to join our friendly and hardworking team as a Level 1 or 2 Teaching Assistant, depending on experience. This is an exciting opportunity for someone in the earlier stages of their career. The post is full time but will accommodate any requirements for release if studying. The ideal candidate will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENDco to:
- Work with pupils who have been identified as having Special Educational Needs to support their learning and progress in lessons or on a 1:1 basis outside of the classroom.
- Help with care, personal hygiene, and medical needs of students.
- Encourage and promote the inclusion and acceptance of all children.
- Contribute to the wider life of the academy.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of working with young people in a school or similar setting.
- Is confident and resilient, patient and nurturing and who wants to help us to support our pupils to thrive and develop into successful young people.
- Can act on their own initiative.
- Is qualified to NVQ Level 1 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent or is willing to work towards this qualification.
- Is a good team player who is willing to contribute to the ethos and wider community of the academy.
- Is motivated, passionate, and reflective about their work.
