Forge Valley School is an 11-18 Academy sponsored by Tapton School Academy Trust. Our school ethos is founded on the principal that ambition and endeavour are key components in achieving success. Currently serving around 1500 pupils, our new, purpose-built learning environment has excellent facilities to help us deliver our curriculum.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant at Level 2 to join our hardworking and supportive SEND team. We are an inclusive school who always work hard to make our practice as good as it possibly can be for all the pupils.
This role is to work as part of a team of Teaching Assistants, and alongside subject teachers, to assist with the teaching and support of children with a range of SEND within the classroom.
The right candidate will:
-work effectively with subject teachers in lessons to enable pupils to access learning and make good progress
- develop positive relationships with pupils and staff showing care, patience, empathy and encouragement
- have good Numeracy and Literacy Skills
- have an ability to work using their own initiative
- have a positive and resilient mindset
- have the skills to maintain effective relationships and work well as a team
- have a high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults
- be flexible and able to adapt to changing situations and learn new skills
- a commitment to ensuring the safety of our pupils
- hold strong values that are aligned with the school and our Department
