Horizons Specialist Academy Trust consists of Abbey Hill Academy, Westlands Academy, Hollis Academy and Green Gates Academy. The academies serve a population of 500 students aged 5 to 19 with a broad range of learning difficulties.

Abbey Hill Academy & Abbey Hill Academy 6th Form is at the forefront of current developments in the education of young people with special needs. We specialise in meeting the needs of students aged 11 to 19 who have a full range of learning disabilities.

Abbey Hill Academy 6th Form, where this post will be situated, provides for approximately 75 young people aged 16 to 19 years who have learning difficulties, as well as other physical and social needs.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, outstanding, creative and enthusiastic teaching assistant who has the flexibility to work with young people who have a variety of special educational needs. The role involves supporting students in the classroom giving attention to their physical as well as educational requirements. Applicants should possess at least a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent and have GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above.

Salary: £13,427 - £14,163 per annum
Benefits & Grade: Grade F (17-19)
Contract Details: Required for September 2017. Temporary Post (for one year in the first instance).
Contract Hours: 32.5 Hours per week, term time only + 5 PL days

Although there is an expectation that all our staff will work across the Trust as necessary, this post will be based at the Abbey Hill Academy 6th Form.
