Job overview

Woodthorpe Primary School is a happy, exciting and caring community in which each child thrives.

We are looking for a positive, caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work within our team to provide support for some of our most vulnerable pupils. This rewarding, varied role will involve small group intervention work, 1:1 support for pupils and some work within our Nest SEN provision.

The successful candidate will have the skills to work alongside class teachers and our school SENDCo to ensure that children are able to access an ambitious curriculum and make positive progress against their own personal targets. Ideally, you will have some previous experience of working with children with SEND, but most importantly, we are looking for someone who is calm, caring and consistent in their approach, who is committed to maintaining our high standards and wants to make a difference and who is willing to 'go that extra mile’ to better the life chances of our children.

In return, the Trust offers a range of staff benefits, including enrolment in the excellent Local Government Pension Scheme, 24/7 access to an employee assistance programme and a range of family friendly policies.

This is a part time role for 32.5 hours per week (8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday) on a term time only basis. The role is fixed term until 31 August 2026.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 6 November 2023.
